Event Recap: Young Storytellers’ The Biggest Show
Hi there UD blog friends! It’s been an eventful couple of weeks for the UD team, culminating in a very special event we had the privilege of catering on behalf of our good friend Wynning Touch Event Design for their client Young Storytellers.
Young Storytellers is an amazing program focusing on developing elementary, middle, and high school students’ creativity through storytelling. Their programs “highlight young people as the center of their own narratives, emphasize that their stories matter, and celebrate their unique voices as the ones telling them.” Students in districts with high poverty rates are the focus for this organization, and each year these students and their work are celebrated in what they call The Biggest Show. It’s a star-studded night in which the stories written by these students are performed by some of the most well-known actors from TV and film. Take a look at this year’s below!
When Urban Decadence Catering was so graciously given the opportunity to throw our hats in the ring to cater the green room for this event, we jumped at the chance. It is very important to us as a family and as a business to leave a positive impression as much as possible, so to be able to cater for these amazing students, their families, and the folks helping put on this event was our honor.
When the Wynning Touch team reached out and told us that YS was in the market for “green room snacks, but a little more sophisticated,” you know we were excited. As you all know, our whole thing is familiar but elevated. So how do you take your typical green room snacks like sandwiches and chips to the next level? Well…
